A passenger plane has made a safe emergency landing at Dublin Airport after crew detected smoke in the cockpit.

The Thomas Cook flight touched down without incident at about 09:40 BST, a spokeswoman for the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) said.

The plane was flying from Manchester to Tenerife.

"The aircraft was en route from Manchester. There was a report of smoke in the cockpit," the spokeswoman said.

All passengers have been evacuated from the plane.

The DAA's full emergency response was put into action and backed up by at least a dozen fire and ambulance crews from across Dublin as a precaution.
