Victorian-based TABCORP Holdings Limited, one of Australia's largest entertainment and leisure companies, owns and operates Star City, New South Wales' only casino which is located on Sydney Harbour.

Sydney Harbour Casino first opened for business in September 1995 but it was not until late 1997 that Star City, the permanent casino and hotel complex, was completed.
TABCORP purchased Star City and majority management rights in late 1999 as a logical extension of its Victorian based leisure and entertainment operations.

Under NSW legislation, Star City is allowed to operate 200 gaming tables and 1500 gaming machines catering to a diverse range of customers. In addition to the casino, Star City includes a 480 room hotel and apartment complex, two theatres with a total 3000 seat capacity, seven major restaurants and a nightclub. In addition it provides a large banquet and convention facility. In keeping with this high quality hotel it maintains a very high standard of bedroom, and it boasts a leisure centre with rooftop pool, a casino, show theatre and superb conference facilities with the opportunity to take drinks on dine on terraces overlooking Darling Harbour.
